HARRISON CONCRETE began operation in 1954
with a fleet of two concrete trucks, one a 1946 Studebaker and the second a
1952 International. From this small beginning serving the Harrison, Ohio area,
we now serve the entire Greater Cincinnati area with quality concrete and
concrete products.
In 1968, HARRISON CONCRETE expanded from its
original plant on Campbell Road to its existing facility near the interchange
of Dry Fork Road and Interstate 74. This location is beneficial to efficient
delivery of concrete along the I-74 corridor from Indiana to downtown
Cincinati. This plant, though originally manufactured in 1968, has been
continually maintained and upgraded to produce concrete ready mix to meet the
most exacting specifications of the industry we serve.
For close to thirty years we established
ourselves as the leader in concrete in the western Cincinnati area. Customers
had an issue, though. Our exemplary service was needed at job sites we couldn't
reach from the Harrison plant. Contractors had to go elsewhere and undergo
practices such as rationed concrete, long waits, etc. they were not accustomed
to having with HARRISON CONCRETE. To meet this need, we opened the Lockland
plant, located on Shepherd Drive in October, 1996. This plant opened our
service area to the northern and eastern sides of the greater Cincinnati area,
Butler county and allowed us to more efficiently serve the Interstate 75
corridor.
In 1989, HARRISON CONCRETE, at the request
of a local security company, opened HARRISON CONCRETE PRODUCTS, a company
specializing in precast concrete panels. This company can design, engineer and
produce high strength precasted panels or other products to fit the needs of
the customer. HARRISON CONCRETE PRODUCTS currently holds an Underwriters
Laboratory listing for its panels produced for the security industry.
In 1997, HARRISON CONCRETE made a commitment
to the marketplace by converting our truck fleet from rear-discharge
Internationals to front-discharge Advance mixers. The industry considers these
the "Rolls Royce" of mixing trucks. Their flexibility allows for large load
capacity and maneuverability around residential and commercial job sites.
In the year 2000, we have made strides on
the environmental side by constructing a concrete reclaiming system at the
Lockland facility. This system will allow us to reclaim concrete remaining in
the drums instead of having to dump and remove the waste later. This process
will allow us to concentrate on serving the customers of this plant vs.
"wasting" our energies on the removal of old concrete.
HARRISON CONCRETE has a history of service
to the concrete construction industry. This history, coupled with innovative
thought, enthusiasm, and hard work make us a leader in the new millennium.
